Aitch B, long standing member of the world famous musical collective Soul II Soul and one of “The Original Funki Dreds” presents SOUL360° - the soulful climax to the weekend that will “inspire your desire to get what you require” on the dance-floor.
Currently every Sunday from 3-6pm, Aitch B takes to the airwaves with the SOUL360°show on Colourful Radio. And from Sunday 4th April, the show will get an extended session taking the concept from the airwaves to the dance-floor at Gramphone, Commercial St.
Now, there is 360° more Soul on a Sunday!
SOUL360°’s stellar play-list takes us on a musical journey across the dance music spectrum including:
James Brown, Slave, Stevie Wonder, Steve Arrington, Earth Wind & Fire, Roy Ayers, Fatback Band, Teena Marie, Stephanie Mills, Brass Construction, Cameo, Patrice Rushen, 4 Hero, Reel People, Jill Scott, Q-tip, Mos Def, Dwele and Down to The Bone.
Expect 70’s & 80’s Soul, Funk, Disco & Boogie, through to their modern day counterparts in Nu-classic, Soulful House, Broken Beats and Hip Hop.
This new Sunday night jam will be a “live extension” of the SOUL360° radio show, so after listening to show on www.colourfulradio.com or DAB (London), you’ll be able to come and experience the uniquely soulful mix of music that will inspire you to boogie!
AITCH B
As a member of the Original Soul II Soul Sound System since 1983, Aitch was heavily involved in their formative years of the blues parties, warehouse scene and the birth of London’s “Original Rare Groove” era. During their rise to fame - from the ground breaking Sunday nights at the Africa Centre to the legendary Friday nights at The Fridge - Aitch was in the midst of the legendary Sound System, playing tunes that helped define London’s status as the dance music capital of the world.
As Soul II Soul stormed the charts across the globe spreading their “happy face, thumping base for loving race” philosophy, Aitch penned the lyrics for one of their biggest hits “Get A Life” as well as a number of tracks on Soul II Soul albums. He also composed lyrics for other music luminaries including James Brown and The Jones Girls.
As someone who has been involved in the creation and development of UK’s club culture, Aitch has seen the comings and goings of a multitude dance music forms. Now he takes us back through this dance music chronicle and beyond into the future to show the common soulful themes with SOUL360°.
SOUL360: An infinite soul-lection of music from old classics to future favourites.
