Parapar
——-
A rare UK appearance by the great Bengali singer Moushumi Bhowmik with her band Parapar, blending folk, classical and rock traditions from East and West into haunting melodies and evocative rhythms. This is a rare chance for Londoners to catch these unique and innovative music makers. Parapar are joined by the exciting up-and-coming dotara player Satyaki Banerjee in his first-ever UK performance. www.parapar.co.uk
Annalie
——-
Somewhere in between indie pop and anti-folk revels the refreshing talent of singer-songwriter Annalie and her extraordinary band. Her powerful voice comes straight from the heart – a haven of playful fantasy, dark reality and hopeless optimism. Drama and darkness are balanced with playful romance, invoking comparisons to Kate Bush and Leonard Cohen. Debut album “The Anomaly Project” is available now on iTunes amd Amazon. www.annalie.co.uk
Maya Levy
———
Maya Levy’s quirky, theatrical folk-pop songs tell stories of her native New York and other places. Like most New Yorkers, she was born and raised there by her immigrant parents. One day some years ago, in the American Dream kind of way, she decided to move to London to seek her fortune, which she still hasn’t quite found.
